Advice to Chemistry Students:

1. Read the text before you go to lecture. It will help you understand what you are hearing and you will get more out of it.

2. Do ALL your homework - and all the OTHER questions in the book - to make sure you have practiced as much as possible.

3. Go to office hours. The best source of information about your exam and class is from the person who is running the show - your professor!

4. Form study groups. Any is class is hard if you go it alone - this one especially. Talking to each other about the concepts and practicing questions together is KEY.

5. Put in the time. There is no substitute for pure time and effort. With a class where so much depends on knowing how to work with formulas, measurements, etc..., the more you practice, the better prepared you'll be.

6. Don't fall behind. Chemistry builds more than other classes. Your ability to understand throughout the semester can depend greatly on your mastery of the fundamentals you learn early on.

7. Have fun. Chemistry can be a lot of fun if you approach it with the correct mind set. When you get it, it just makes sense and can be very rewarding. So good luck!
