Second Semester 'Guiding Questions'

Second Semester Project Overview and Rubric

1.12.09 Welcome to a new year and a new semester of Physiology. Reflect on you experience from last year and identify areas where you can improve. You are now one semester away from college! Act like it!

12.01.08 Finals are just around the corner. You should be reviewing your old notes, labs and all the materials we've used throughout the semester. Cramming does NOT work! We learned this in the nervous system unit. You need to encode things over time!

FINAL EXAM QUESTIONS

11.13.08 Start practicing and building skills for college now. Look above the sinks in the science room for some practical strategies you can use NOW!

Sensory Systems Unit Organizer

10.17.08 Use the Unit Organizer that we made in class. It is a great tool to keep yourself organized and gives you a map of where the unit is going.

10.10.08 Think about what we talked about in class. Change can be hard but it is possible if you are willing to work hard and prepared for bumps in the road. Remember the four components of student success:

1. Knowledge - What you know

2. Strategies - What you do

3. Behaviors - How you act

4. Perceptions/Motivation - How you feel and approach learning

In each area you have control over your learning and CAN change.

8.25.08: The Physiology Page is up and running! Yay! From now on you can go to the 'Unit Pages' to find the homework, schedule, and downloadable copies of any documents that are passed out.

8.25.08: Many people did really well on the first quiz. Well done! If you didn't do as well as you had hoped, think about what you might do in the future to improve your study methods. More time, using flashcards, taking better notes, etc... Come see Fong if you need help.
